KUALA LUMPUR OFFICE MOVE
The office move to Jalan Sultan Ismail in September 2012 has been an opportunity to review systems and to improve performances.
In the period before the move, the volume of files and paper being stored on site was dramatically reduced through various disposal initiatives.
In tandem, the firm is encouraging the increased use of e-filing and filing methods alike.
Office furniture was donated to various charities and organizations.
New office furniture and carpets were purchased on the basis that they were recyclable and are manufactured with recycled content.
The firm also upgraded its computers and networking facilities to be more energy efficient.
The firm also upgraded its kitchen appliances to be of the highest energy efficiency standard.
With the success of the above initiatives, we have now extended it to our other offices in Malaysia.
The firm shall be carrying out this initiative in stages, with the first stage being to dispose off files and other documents in line with Chapter 20, Malaysian Bar Council’s Guidelines For Disposal of Files.
Once carefully disposed off, the firm intends to send these documents for recycling.
Alongside with the above, the firm intends to implement an energy saving scheme by switching off or turning down lights and air conditioners during the lunch office hours of 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
Where permitted, and with the general encouragement of our clients, we intend to carry out business meetings via web conferencing methods and emails.
The firm and its members are committed to environmental sustainability and are always looking for new strategic and integrated means to improve our contributions to reducing our environmental impact.
